FUNDRAISER FOR CHAD WILLIAMS A HUGE SUCCESS!

Thanks to Lena’s great organizing skills and the tremendous amount of time and energy she devoted to the fundraiser, almost $2,550 was raised to help Chad and his family with his treatments and related expenses. Many thanks to EVERYONE who also generously contributed time, energy, and money. It was very gratifying to see how so many people “stepped up to the plate,” and worked together on this worthwhile effort! A special thanks to the Ladies Auxiliary for raising the funds to pay for the band! A few companies donated funds after the event, bring the gift to almost $4,000! The family is most grateful.

RAISING FUNDS FOR THE ROOF

Everyone enjoys the 50-50 game as a fun (and profitable!) way to help raise money for the roof. We had more lucky winners in August, including Dennis Sabo, Dr. Dick (twice!) and Crystal Corning.
Thanks, Dr. Dick, for donating your winnings back to the roof fund!
Don’t forget, you must be present to win, so come on down on Friday, buy a ticket, be present at 7:30 p.m. and you may be the next big winner!

“HOG WILD PARTY A FUN FUNDRAISER”

If you missed the “Hog Wild” party, you missed some fantastic food and a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone who organized such a great event! The lucky winner of the popular scooter was Candy Marshall! Thanks for donating it Ken Riley! Scott Nettleton won the “free beer for a year mug.” The roof fund has increased as a result of this fundraiser; however, no specific information was available at the time this newsletter was printed. Come to the Joint Meeting on September 30 to find out the latest on the roof fund! Mike spent the day roasting the pig and being a ham.

TRAVEL CLUB NEWS

(submitted by Margie Halgren)

What a busy summer! St. Maries/Iona, Napavine and the Velasco’s. If you did not attend, you missed out on some good times! Next up is Rockport on September 27-29. Ronnie and Maggie will be hosting, and I’m sure they’re planning something delish for Saturday night’s dinner!

Plan on the “Duck Ride” in Seattle on September 14. The ride is about 90 minutes, and everyone enjoys it. Cost per person is $30.66 (no senior discounts). Monies must be turned in at the meeting on September 11. Email, mail or bring in your favorite activity or location by the next meeting. We are planning for winter ideas, and remember, it’s time to make reservations for next year.

Congratulations to Lucky Dollar winner, Debbie Johnson!
