PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE – AT CHRISTMASTIME

Once again, as Eagles members, we have the opportunity to live up to our motto “People Helping People.”  Our role in the community is to help others, and we are fortunate to have the ability to reach out to different communities and help where we can.  This year we have several options for giving:

CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE  - Thanks to Lisa Jensen, we will once again have a Christmas Giving Tree and provide holiday happiness for local needy families.  Lisa will hang tags on the tree with items you can provide, or you can donate cash.  Please bring your unwrapped gifts or cash to the club by Wednesday, December 18.  Questions?  Contact Lisa at 206-660-4117.

OPERATION BROWN BAG CHRISTMAS – For the second year in a row, Candy and her 10-year old son, Blake, will be joining the efforts of a grassroots movement to share the Christmas spirit with the homeless in our communities.  Hundreds of bags will be filled with food, warm socks, gloves, hygiene products, handmade holiday cards and more.  Volunteers from Bellingham to Seattle will deliver them to people living on the street.  A box and list of items will be at the Eagles through Friday, December 20 or you can view the list, volunteer for an event or donate funds to purchase items at http://operationbrownbagchristmas.com.

BLANKET & COAT DRIVE – There is a large bin at the entrance to the club for donations of blankets and coats.  These items are greatly needed, especially with the cold weather we’re already having!

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!!

ATTENTION – CHANGE IN MEETING DATE

Please note that the first meetings of the month for the Trustees, Auxiliary and Aerie will be held on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 3 instead of Monday, December 2.  This is due to the huge Seahawks game on Monday, and because we want to have everyone’s full attention at the monthly meetings on Tuesday!!  So, enjoy the game on Monday, but be sure to attend the meetings on Tuesday too!!

NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY!!

Welcome in the new year with your fellow Eagles members.  Tickets are now available for $25 per person for the annual New Year’s Eve party.  A delicious ham dinner will be served at 6 p.m., followed by dance music by “Kickin’  Dust.”  You’ll also get party favors, champagne and a continental breakfast after midnight.  If you plan to arrive after 9 p.m., tickets will be $15 per person for party favors, champagne and the continental breakfast.  As noted earlier, confetti will happen and a great time will be had by all!!
