IN MEMORY

It brings us great sorrow to announce the passing of one of our dear members, Joe Andre.  Joe passed away on March 12, 2015, at the age of 86.  He was a very active member in our club for 34 years.  Joe was a Trustee, a member of the Travel Club and an original member of the Motorcycle Club.  He is survived by his wife, Gayle, who not only was also a long-time member, but also worked here for many years.  We didn’t get to see Joe and Gayle much these last few years, after they moved to the Shelton area and Joe’s health began to fail.   Our sincere sympathy goes out to Gayle and the family.  For those of us who remember Joe, he was a very loving and caring man and will be missed

UPDATE ON THE CLUB’S INTERIOR

Lots of painting, patching, carpeting and fixing the dance floor work has begun.  Work will be done every Sunday as we’re in the process of “freshening up” the club.  Once the painting and patching is completed, we will proceed with the new dance floor and carpets.  Please help by supporting raffles and other fundraising activities for this work.

THANK YOU, LIAM!

A big thanks to Trustee Liam Olsen for acquiring all the new replacement ceiling tiles for the banquet room and main hall.  Getting the tiles really saved the club a lot of time and money!

CLEAN UP DAY, SATURDAY, MAY 2, 9 a.m.

Plan now to come on down and volunteer to help clean up the club, inside and outside.  Sign up at the front entry.  Everyone’s help is needed!

LADIES AUXILIARY UPDATE

We had a very successful membership drive in February and March and welcomed seven new members – Diane Kaetola, Ginni Swanson, Deby Alm, Lynn Sherwood, Catherine Hendrickson, Mildred Mitchell and Ruth MacDonald-Schmidt.  They already contributed their good ideas at our March 16 meeting, and we look forward to working with them at future meetings.

As a result of input from our new members, the Ladies Auxiliary will make a $75 donation to Einstein Elementary School in Redmond for its meal program for needy students.  In the future we will also be working on other projects to aid needy, especially homeless, students in the area.

The Auxiliary is currently collecting old but usable towels, and shoe boxes for the Humane Society.  Contact Carole Browning if you have something to donate.

Exciting news – Mavis Board won the membership pot of $90.00.  Congratulations, Mavis!

District #14 News:  Eagles Memorial and Installation for District #14 will be on April 12 at the Renton Eagles, 8:30 a.m. breakfast followed by meetings.  Please support your District and District Deputy, Carole Browning!

TRAVEL CLUB UPDATE

There are still 3 spaces available for the Rasar State Park outing, May 15-16.  Anyone who is interested in going on this outing is welcome to join the group; you do not have to be a Travel Club member.  Please let Sharon Gottschalk know by April 1 if you’re interested.
Ideas for a June outing are still open for discussion.  Fall City was mentioned as a possibility for a day trip.  The Angel of the Winds Casino was also suggested for a future outing.  Plan to attend the April meeting for further discussion of all ideas.  The next meeting will be held on April 8 at 7 p.m.
Congratulations to Lucky Dollar winner Mavis Board.  March was a lucky month for Mavis!
